"The ceremony went by so fast, but as I was ushering the family down the aisle to be seated, I caught glimpses and smiles of some in the crowd. Once the ceremony began and we were both on stage, I was shocked to see Baylie not nearly as nervous as she was during rehearsal. To me, that solidified the truth that “here we are, this is for real, this is meant to be”. As the ceremony concluded, not everyone exited through our receiving line, which was completely fine, and left us with a sort of shock once we could see you all gathered at our reception. For us to be seated at that high table, overlooking all of our wonderful guests, that is what made the day so special. To be joined by our mentors of faith, baptismal sponsors, dedicated educators, generations of family; some from all over, and lifelong friends was awe inspiring. For us to be able to look over the span of that room and see so many important people that have impacted our lives in such positive ways, gathered because of us, to send us off on our new life together was truly God’s gift.
