Mr. & Mrs. Grove - 9.19.2020
"Garrett and I would like to thank everyone for coming to our wedding and helping make it the most memorable and happy day for us. We couldn't have had anywhere near the amazing day if it weren't for both of our families. The weather was amazing and the weather was amazing. In these weird and uncertain times it was nice to have a day that felt more normal. We are so grateful we were able to have a wedding that included those close to us. For the girls the morning included coffee, breakfast pizza, hair, makeup, and mimosas. Then we all piled in the car and rode off to the venue. Sneaking in to avoid Garrett seeing us, but mostly me. We all got our dresses on and I put on my jewelry and shoes with the help of my mother. Then there was more sneaking as we got Garrett in position for our first look. With family peering around the door, I made my way to Garrett and tapped his shoulder. It was a relief to be able to see him and get this small moment together. Then we repositioned and set up the first look with my dad. We were both happy to see one another and shared hugs and compliments. After we got group formal pictures done the night started to move quick, final questions answered for vendors and then lining up for the ceremony. As it got to my turn everything melted away as I walked toward Garrett, my father gave me away and then the ceremony began. I may have written out most of the ceremony, but I don't remember hearing it, just looking at Garrett and trying to pay attention when it was my turn to speak. Which didn't go well, as I had to be told twice a couple times, which resulted in some shared laughter. We exited with each other through bubbles and cheers of our friends and family. Then Grace and I struggled to remove my veil and I ditched my heels, so we could help dismiss everyone and say our hello's. The rest of the night was filled with drinks, dinner, dancing, wonderfully written speeches, and lots of love. It was a wonderful night made possible by everyone who was able to attend. We miss those who were unable to attend and those who wanted so badly to be there, but were taken away too soon."
Venue: Riviera Roose Event Center in Janesville, Iowa.
