Lauren's day started on a beautiful, sunny day at one of my favorite bridal salons - MOD Hair Salon in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Lauren's hair was styled into beautiful, loose curls, and she received full airbrush for her makeup - she looked absolutely stunning.
After their time of pampering, everyone made their way to The Hampton hotel in Waterloo for some detail photos, lunch, conveniently delivered by Panera Bread in Waterloo and everybody getting into their wedding attire.
Soon, Darren was taken to a bright, quiet location to await seeing his bride for the first time that day...anticipation was building for them both.
I love that in downtown/urban areas, your options are so much more open when it comes to locations. As long it isn't high noon, there are so many shaded locations with different colors and textures to choose from. I never feel like I have enough time - I could photograph people downtown all day long. The options are endless!
Darren & Lauren's ceremony and reception were both held at the Brown Derby in Waterloo, Iowa. I'll admit, I love when weddings get emotional. Not only does it make for beautiful photos for the couple, it evokes an overwhelming feeling of love to everyone watching. It's difficult to look at a photo of a dad wiping his tears as he walks his baby girl down the aisle and not feel emotional yourself. What a story it tells of the relationship between them. I'd be lying if I said I've never shed a tear during a ceremony or father/daughter dance. I'm typically not a super emotional person, but those will get me almost every time. <3
We snuck out right after speeches to get some photos just before sunset. The sun spent the evening hiding behind some pretty overcast skies, however, I'll never complain about big fluffy clouds. <3
The rest of the night was full of smiles, laughter, some tears and a lot of love. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Kopache (and pupper dog, Shawn) -- I'm so happy for you and your next stage of life. Don't be a stranger - I always love life updates. <3
